What is the draft Policy about?

The draft Policy outlines the City’s approach to providing leased facilities to sporting clubs and community organisations within the City to support their activities for the benefit of all.

    How was the Policy drafted?

At the start of the year we asked our Lessees to provide feedback regarding the way the City's Leases and Licences process operates to understand how arrangements were working and whether or not improvements could be made.

Direct feedback to listed questions along with additional commentary specific to user groups was then used to inform the draft Policy.

    What is the process?

The City is currently undertaking community engagement regarding the draft Policy and would like your feedback.

You can have your say via the survey below or hard copy saved in the document library.

My lease is up for renewal – what are the next steps?

Please provide your feedback on the draft Policy. Once submissions close, the City will prepare a report to Council.

Following the outcome of the draft Policy review the City will be in contact with clubs to offer new leases.

This entails the City issuing an Assignment of Lease to the sporting / community group for review/acceptance and return to the City.

The final step is for a copy of the City’s Consent and Minister's Consent Advice to be sent to the sporting / community group.
