Proposed 18 month road closure: Western end of Kalamunda Road, High Wycombe

The City of Kalamunda invites public comment on the proposed closure of the western end of Kalamunda Road, from the west side of the Abernethy Road intersection. This notice is issued in accordance with the Local Government Act Section 3.50.

It is proposed that the road be closed to facilitate the full replacement of the rail bridge on Kalamunda Road, and a reconstruction of the Kalamunda-Abernethy Intersection. The works will be constructed by the Greater Connect Alliance (GCA) as part of the Great Eastern Highway Bypass Interchanges project.

All enquiries on the project should be directed to Main Roads WA on 138 138 or via the www.mainroads.wa.gov.au website.

Once the construction is completed, Kalamunda Road will be reopened, providing additional lanes and increased loading capacity on the bridge.

Alternatively, the documentation can be viewed in person at the City of Kalamunda Administration, 2 Railway Road, Kalamunda during office business hours.

Subject to approval, the closure will be initiated from January 2023. It is expected to be reopened by July 2024.
