The City of Kalamunda is calling for expressions of interest from members of the community who would like to be a part of the Private Property Fire Preparedness Community Workshop Group.
The City is currently seeking nominations to fill the following positions:
Eight (8) members Community Representatives residing in the district
up to Four (4) - Community Members properties under 4000sqm
up to Four (4) - Community Members properties over 4000sqm
Two (2) City of Kalamunda Staff
Chairperson of the City of Kalamunda Bush Fire Advisory Committee
Mayor
Purpose of the Community Working Group:
To provide advice on community engagement strategies regarding private property fire preparedness.
To provide feedback from the perspective of each party
To inform and update relevant parties on the ideas discussed and outcomes reached following meetings.
Responsibilities of Members
Members are required to:
attend meetings and participate in discussions
represent the interests and views of their local community, membership base
inform interest groups and others about the meeting outcomes and direction, and convey feedback at meetings
advise the Chairperson if they are unable to attend meetings
discuss issues relevant to the project as defined by the Terms of Reference
restrict issues and debates to items relevant to the Terms of Reference
be open and honest in their dealings at CWG meetings and with CWG members
declare any vested interests, and
respect any confidentiality requirements requested by the members, guests, officers or elected members present.
The Community Reference Group will operate until April 2023. However, there may be the opportunity to extend the term of this group to assist with further tasks identified as things progress, or similarly, to cease meetings if all parties are satisfied with outcomes reached in an earlier timeframe.
