The City of Kalamunda is re-advertising the proposal for the Lodging House at the at the above-mentioned property following the comments received from the submissions of the original round of advertising conducted in May 2024.
Lodging House means any building or structure, permanent or otherwise, and any part thereof, in which provision is made for lodging or boarding more than 6 persons, exclusive of the family of the keeper thereof, for hire or reward; but the term does not include —
- premises licensed under a publican’s general licence, limited hotel licence, or wayside-house licence, granted under the Licensing Act 1911 2 ; or
- residential accommodation for students in a non-government school within the meaning of the School Education Act 1999; or
- any building comprising residential flats;
Since the initial advertising conducted, the City has received an updated Management Plan and Parking Plan from the applicant for the Lodging House and the application is being re-advertised for comments on the updated proposal.
The updated Management Plan confirms that the Lodging House will not be used for short-term rentals and each residential tenancy will last for period of 6 months to 12 months. The management plan outlines details relating to parking, noise, lease arrangements and waste management.
