The City of Kalamunda is seeking nominations for the Kalamunda Environmental Advisory Committee (KEAC).
The KEAC makes recommendations to Council on matters relating:
to environmental policy and practice and
provides feedback on community engagement matters relating to policy and practice.
It also assists the City and its work within the community to encourage an increased level of awareness relating to the matters presented and discussed and highlights the Council’s projects whereby the City Officer will have an opportunity to actively engage with representatives of the community..
The City is currently seeking nominations to fill six (6) community representative positions.
Objectives are:
make recommendations to Council on matters relating to environmental policy and practice, including but not limited to:
Biodiversity protection and enhancement
Natural area, natural resources, remnant bushland and trees
Park and streetscape management
Catchment drainage and water course management
Surface water quality management
Resource recovery and waste management
Friends groups and community environment activities
Significant pest control
Integrated pest and weed management
provide feedback on community engagement matters relating to the above items.
assist the City and its work within the community to encourage an increased level of awareness relating to the matters presented and discussed.
highlight the Council’s projects whereby the City Officer will have an opportunity to actively engage with representatives of the community.
The Advisory Committee is to be made up of eight (8) members including:
Two Elected Members.
Six Community Representatives, residing in the district.
Term of Appointment: November 2019 to October 2021.
HOW TO NOMINATE If you are interested in participating on this Advisory committee, please complete the online nomination form below.
To submit a nomination, you need to:
provide details summarising your interests, what benefit you will provide to the Committee, and specifically address the following:
Knowledge and experience of the topics the Committee will be required to provide advice;
Previous experience in participating on other committees, working groups or boards;
The ability to allocate the necessary time to attend meetings and read documentation prior to the meetings;
What specific knowledge / skill area will you bring to the Committee, to assist with broadening and balancing views.
