The City of Kalamunda is seeking nominations for the Strategic Sport and Recreation Committee (SSRC).
The SSRC makes recommendation to Council for the allocation of funding to support Capital sport and recreation projects within the City.
The SSRC assesses and prioritises applications submitted from sporting and recreation clubs toward any new or major upgrade projects received through the City’s Capital Grants program and to make recommendations to Council for funding and reviews and validates sport and recreation projects identified in the City’s ten-year Long-Term Financial Plan.
The City is currently seeking nominations to fill up to nine (9) community representative positions.
Objectives are:
assess and prioritise applications submitted from sporting and recreation clubs toward any new or major upgrade projects received through the City’s Capital Grants program and to make recommendations to Council for funding. Note: Renewal projects based upon replacement of ‘like for like’ will not be considered by this Committee
review and validate sport and recreation projects identified in the City’s ten year Long-Term Financial Plan.
The Advisory Committee is to be made up of eleven (11) members comprising:
two (2) City of Kalamunda officers will be ex-officio members of the Committee:
Director Corporate Services
Director Asset Services
Or their nominees will provide this support
up to nine (9) sport and recreation representatives for the community.
Term of Appointment: November 2019 to October 2021.
HOW TO NOMINATE If you are interested in participating on this Advisory committee, please review the nomination information available via the document library and complete the online nomination form below.
To submit a nomination, you need to:
provide details summarising your interests, what benefit you will provide to the Committee, and specifically address the following:
Describe and provide examples of any relevant skills and experience with respect to sport and recreation infrastructure development projects. For example; experience with grant applications, needs or feasibility studies, strategic facility planning (preferably in a sport and recreation stetc.
List any previous roles or experience you have in participating on other committees, working groups or boards.
Demonstrate your ability to allocate the necessary time to attend meetings and read documentation prior to the meeting.
