What do we mean by assets?
‘Assets’ refers to infrastructure that is managed by the City of Kalamunda. The major asset categories are: roads, footpaths, car parks, drainage, parks and reserves, buildings, and plant and fleet.
What is a Level of Service?
Asset management requires the understanding of the services that are provided by assets. For example a road provides a way to get from one place to another in a vehicle, in a safe manner. A building provides shelter, a place to meet people, and do an activity.
The Corporate Business Plan 2017-2021 outlines the requirement for the Asset Management team to ‘Undertake community engagement processes to establish appropriate levels of services for all asset management plans’ (under 18.104.22.168 Assets – Service levels). This action is also identified in the Asset Management Strategy 2017–2021, which identifies that consultation will be undertaken for the asset classes of Roads, Drainage and Pathways in 2017-2018. A budget was allocated for this activity in 2017-2018.
How will the information be used?
Development of the asset management plans for roads (including bridges), pathways and drainage will be undertaken by the City of Kalamunda, using the consultation results from this survey.
How can I provide feedback?
The City of Kalamunda is encouraging residents to provide feedback.

The public comment period closes on 23 March 2018.
What will happen next?
Following the public comment period, staff will review the community feedback and prepare a report to Council on the outcomes of the consultation. The results of all the feedback will also be used to guide the relevant asset management plans.
