Public comment period has concluded.
The City has received a Joint Development Assessment Panel Application for a proposed childcare premises at the above-mentioned location. Please be advised the City is not the determining authority, and the application will be determined by the Metro Outer Joint Development Assessment Panel.
The City is required to prepare a Responsible Authority Report (RAR) that provides a comprehensive assessment of the proposal and a recommendation to the Panel. The key elements of the proposal are as follows:

The City has received a Joint Development Assessment Panel Application for a proposed childcare premises at the above-mentioned location. Please be advised the City is not the determining authority, and the application will be determined by the Metro Outer Joint Development Assessment Panel.
The City is required to prepare a Responsible Authority Report (RAR) that provides a comprehensive assessment of the proposal and a recommendation to the Panel. The key elements of the proposal are as follows:
23 bays provided on site to service the development inclusive of 1 accessible bay, (24 bays required to comply therefore the proposal seeks a shortfall of one (1) parking bay)
Maximum number of children is 90 and 15 staff members
Operating hours are Monday-Friday 6:30am to 6:30pm
Access and egress to the site is via Canning Road (some staff parking can be accessed from Swindells)
Site works include cutting/ filling and retaining walls (refer to site plan for heights)

Bushfire Attack Level Assessment – determined rating of BAL -12.5
Geotechnical Report
Acoustic Assessment
Development plans
Noise Management Plan
It is Council’s policy to give affected landowners an opportunity to comment on the proposal, If you wish to make a submission on the proposal or would like to view the plans and documents please do so via our website under the “Have Your Say” section at www.kalamunda.wa.gov.au, by close of business Thursday 6 October 2022.
If you do not have access to the internet, please contact the City’s Approval Services where a hard copy submission form can be arranged. All submissions received on the proposal will be responded to in the Responsible Authority Report. Please note the City will advise all submitters in writing when the application will be considered by the Metro Outer Joint Development Assessment Panel.
