Consultation has concluded

Bushland in the City of Kalamunda

Outcome

Council resolved to adopt the Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan at the Ordinary Council Meeting on 12 December 2023.

The draft plan received six (6) responses. Of these respondents, four expressed positive sentiments, stating that they found the draft Plan to be good. One respondent remained neutral, and one individual considered the draft Plan to be very poor (they were unable to download a copy of the RAP however, there were no other access concerns raised and we are unable to check if this was user error or a legitimate problem).

More information is available in the Community Engagement Report.

Background

Kaya. Hello. The City of Kalamunda has released its Draft Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) 2023 for public comment.

We are committed to continuing to strengthen relationships, and seek guidance from, our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. After initial consultation with our community members, the RAP was created to outline our actions over the next two years that will work to achieve our organisation's vision for reconciliation.

This RAP is an Innovate RAP which allows us to gain a deeper understanding of our sphere of influence and establish the best approach to advance reconciliation. It focusses on developing and strengthening meaningful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, engaging staff and stakeholders in reconciliation, and developing and piloting innovative strategies to empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

It’s now over to you to let us know what you think of the plan.

Note: It is important that you download and read the Draft Reconciliation Action Plan 2023 so you are able to respond to this survey.
