The City of Kalamunda is developing its Environmental Land Use Planning Strategy (ELUPS) to meet the future needs of the local natural environment and community, and promote sustainable planning practices which will be complementary to the existing natural environment.
The purpose of the Strategy will be to:
- Identify the environmental factors that will influence future planning in the City.
- Identify how these factors can be appropriately addressed during the assessment of development and subdivision applications
- Develop strategic actions to provide guidance on how we can improve environmental outcomes through our statutory and strategic planning processes.
The ELUPS will form one part of the proposed new Local Planning Strategy being developed in 2019, focusing on relevant environmental planning considerations. A Local Planning Strategy should be reviewed and prepared by a local government every five years.
Your feedback will help shape the development of ELUPS, as well as ensure that your aspirations for our growing community are heard.
