The City of Kalamunda is seeking nominations for Kalamunda Environmental Advisory Committee

Nominations extended to 5pm, Sunday, 20 March 2022 | Nominations Opened: 9 February 2022

The City of Kalamunda operates Kalamunda Environmental and Sustainability Advisory Committee (KESAC) whose role is “To provide Council with support as requested in the City’s progress towards becoming a more environmentally sustainable community recognising the impacts of Climate Change”.

The committee aims to assist the Council by providing advice on draft strategies, actions, plans, community engagement activities, and emerging issues and opportunities relating to environmental and sustainability matters. Upon request from Council, the committee may undertake specific investigations, tasks, or review of a range of matters relating to climate change. Committee members aim to act as champions in the community for City environmental and sustainability initiatives.

The City will be developing its Climate Change Action Plan this year and the involvement of KESAC is paramount to its success.

We are seeking an professional expert in Climate Change matters who would be willing to give of themselves in providing their expertise, experience and wisdom to the Committee to assist in the development of a game changing set of actions for the City. Whilst the role is voluntary the City will acknowledge the support of the expert as required. The Committee meets once a quarter with committee members spending some time between meetings on the matters under investigation.

Meetings can be online via Microsoft teams or in person.
