How long will these road upgrades take?

    • Siteworks commences on 17 December.
    • Earthworks will occur in January.
    • Construction expected to be completed by the end of February (during Term 1).

    What measures are being considered to accommodate / minimise disruption to local students?

    The proposed works to be scheduled for outside of school hours.

    How are road upgrades and health concerns being addressed? E.g. noise, dust

    • Works will comply fully with all legislative and regulatory requirements (e.g. Regulation 43 - Disposal of Asbestos, Health (Asbestos) Regulations, WorkSafe occupational health & safety requirements).
    • An Asbestos Management Plan will be in place, including dust and airborne asbestos fibre monitoring.
    • A Construction Environmental Management Plan is in place which has been approved by the Department of Health and the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation.
    • Stormwater drainage from the development is to be contained on site, or appropriately treated and connected to the local drainage system in accordance with the City of Kalamunda Stormwater Plan.

    How are the environmental concerns being addressed? E.g. native flora / fauna

    • Some trees and vegetation will need to be removed to allow for the Kiss’n Drive zone.
    • Vegetation and trees outside the footprint of the final infrastructure shall be protected in accordance with AS 4970 Protection of Trees on Development Sites.
    • Existing verges shall not be disturbed beyond the extent of work.
    • Stormwater drainage from the development is to be contained on site, or appropriately treated and connected to the local drainage system in accordance with the City of Kalamunda Stormwater Plan.

    How will the road upgrades impact access?

    To minimise access issues the proposed works will be scheduled for outside of school hours.
