Nominated in recognition of his long term commitment to the environment including: • As a long standing member of the Piesse Brook Friends Group, mentor to new and old Volunteers, as Secretary, organizing planting days, applying for Grants and general liaison between the City of Kalamunda, the Department of Biodiversity , Conservation and Attractions (DBCA) and other Government organizations; • Dedicating many hours scouring the bush and eradicating weed species (including picking off 100s of bulbils off Watsonias before they have a chance to drop); and • Identifying approximately 500 endemic plant species in the local Hills region over 13 years and presenting them on a DVD, available to the public.
