Nominations are now open for the Monthly and Annual, Thank a Volunteer Day, Local Hero Award. The Local Hero Awards are a celebration of those people within our community who give so much to help others, who are passionate about making a difference, freely volunteering to help and protect our community.

Each month, a deserving nominee will be selected for the Local Hero of the Month Award, providing wide recognition for an active community member. The monthly awards will culminate at the Annual Thank a Volunteer Ceremony in Stirk Park on Friday the 7th of December, 2018, at which the Local Hero of the Year Award will be presented. Nominations will be accepted throughout the year.

So this is your opportunity to nominate someone you know, and have their contribution to the City of Kalamunda community celebrated. Community members are invited to nominate via an online or hard copy nomination form. The Local Hero Nomination Form is available from the City of Kalamunda Website, the City Administration Office or from your local Library.

Volunteering creates connected communities, providing opportunities for people to connect with each other and their region, to make a positive difference to the community through their endeavours. So together, let’s recognise and celebrate the extraordinary contributions made by these wonderful people in our local community!
