Consultation has concluded

This policy envisages the provision of public art in circumstances where proposed development generates a planning need for it. A planning need can be demonstrated when a proposed development would result in an increase of staff and visitors which would benefit from the provision of public art, as well as circumstances where the provision of public art would offset the negative amenity impacts of a proposed development, or when a development is not consistent with the character of the locality.

A copy of the Draft Local Planning Policy No 26: Public Art Contributions (LPP26) is available from the Documents Library tab on this page, at the City's Administration building or libraries.

At the Ordinary Council Meeting held 25 May 2021, Council resolved to ADOPT the proposed Local Planning Policy 26 (Attachment 1) for the purposes of advertising for a period of 21 days pursuant to Schedule 2, Part 2, Clause 4(1) of the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015.
