The City of Kalamunda is seeking to appoint an external member to the City’s Audit & Risk Committee.
The Audit & Risk Committee plays an integral role in enabling local government to fulfil its governance and oversight responsibilities relating to financial reporting, internal control structures, risk management systems, legislative compliance, ethical accountability and the internal and external audit functions.
The City is currently seeking nominations of an external independent member who can address the following selection criteria:
knowledge and experience in audit and risk management;
previous experience in participation on audit and risk committees;
experience in Audit planning and risk management processes and procedures;
experience in business and financial management;
experience in internal business controls, assurance processes and legislative compliance;
preferably being a Certified Practising Accountant, a member of Institute of Chartered Accountants or equivalent;
tertiary qualifications commensurate with understanding audit, risk, Policy and financial reports and information.
