Welcome to the Plants for Residents 2025 Program, an initiative by the City of Kalamunda to promote biodiversity, enhance the urban canopy, and support local fauna. By participating in this program, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

1. Eligibility

1.1 Participation is open exclusively to residents of the City of Kalamunda. Proof of residency is required.

1.2 Each property is eligible to receive only one plant pack. This will be verified during the application and collection processes.

2. Program Structure

2.1 Expression of Interest (EOI):

2.1.1 Residents must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to participate in the program.

2.1.2 The EOI application period runs from 8am on 1 March 2025 to 12pm on 31 March 2025 on engage.kalamunda.wa.gov.au/PFR2025.

2.1.3 Residents unable to register online may call 9257 9999 to provide their details, including address and contact information.

2.1.4 Rental property residents must submit their rental property address in the EOI and provide a recent utility notice (dated within the past 90 days) at the time of plant collection.

2.2 Lottery System:

2.2.1 All EOIs will be entered into a lottery system. Successful participants will be randomly selected and notified by 28 April 2025.

2.2.2 The lottery results are final and cannot be disputed.

3. Notification and Registration

3.1 Successful participants will receive notification via email with details about their allocated plant pack and pick-up timeslot.

3.2 Participants must RSVP by 11 May 2025 to secure their plant pack. Failure to RSVP by this date will result in forfeiture, and the plant pack will be reallocated to another resident.

3.3 If you RSVP but are not selected as a winner, your registration will automatically be removed from the event.

4. Plant Pick-up

4.1 Plant collection will take place on Saturday, 31 May 2025, at the Woodlupine Community Centre during the assigned timeslot.

4.2 Plants must be picked up on the designated day. Alternate collection days will not be provided.

4.3 If you are unable to attend, you may authorise another person to collect the plants on your behalf. The City must be notified in advance of this arrangement.

4.4 Participants are required to bring:

• Proof of residency (e.g., rates notice, driver’s license, or recent utility notice for renters).

• Ticket confirmation (provided during registration).

• A box or bag for transporting plants.

4.5 Upon verification of proof of residency, participants will be allowed to collect their pre-allocated plant pack. Substitutions are not permitted unless directed by nursery staff due to stock availability.

5. Program Guidelines

5.1 Each plant pack includes pre-selected native plants designed to align with environmental objectives:

• Urban forest pack

• Biodiversity pack

• Habitat pack

• Wildflower pack

5.2 Plant packs are allocated on a lottery basis to ensure fairness.

5.3 Substitutions for plant species within the packs are only provided when certain plants are unavailable due to propagation issues or nursery conditions.

5.4 Participants are expected to adhere to community guidelines when engaging with City staff and volunteers during the program.

5.5 Any personal information provided will be managed in accordance with the City’s Privacy Policy and will only be used for the purposes of the program.

6. Responsibilities of Participants

6.1 Participants are encouraged to care for their plants to ensure successful growth and to contribute to the City’s environmental goals.

6.2 The City may request feedback on the program and plant growth to improve future initiatives.
