2020 Nominations for Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) Reference Group

The City of Kalamunda is seeking expressions of interest for the Kalamunda Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) Reference Group.

The purpose of the Reference Group is to provide guidance to the City for the successful delivery of the Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) as the City aims toward Reconciliation. The City of Kalamunda’s RAP commits to completing a number of actions around the themes of Respect, Relationships, Opportunities and Governance.


Qualification to be a member:

The Committee membership shall be based on meeting one or more of the following criteria;

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who live, work or have affiliation with the City of Kalamunda.
  • Non-Aboriginal City of Kalamunda residents who are interested in Reconciliation and the influence it will have on the wider Kalamunda community.
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community groups and organisations that operate within and/or are located within the City of Kalamunda.

Objectives:

  • Provide support, acknowledge and demonstrate respect for local cultural protocols.
  • Actively contribute feedback on the methodology and research process in relation to the RAP’s implementation.
  • Liaise and consult with relevant community groups, local governments and agencies to assist with the implementation of the RAP.
  • Promote a shared knowledge and understanding of the City’s commitment to reconciliation.

The Reference Group is to made up of eight (8) members comprising:

  • Six (6) community members, including two (2) members who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
  • Two (2) Senior Management City staff members

How to nominate:

To submit a nomination, you need to:

  • Provide details summarising your interests, experience, benefits you will provide to the reference group and ability to allocate the necessary time.
  • Read, Understand and Agree to the Terms of Reference (See document library)
