Who and what are Town Teams?
Town Teams are proactive community members who together work to create positive change in a particular place or space, often a town centre, community meeting place or main street.
Focusing on a Place is a great way to link people together to generate new ideas to enhance our community, bringing fantastic ideas to life!
A Town Team links together people form diverse backgrounds with incredible knowledge, experience and creative ideas. It may include businesses, landowners and residents, who together, create positive change for the whole community. Town Teams are non-political, community driven and are a positive influence and voice for their town.
Town Teams are created and driven by community, for the community.
Town Teams are community members who support the building of a connected, happy and healthy town by promoting civic leadership, active citizenship and community empowerment, with each team having a place of focus.
The Town Team model breaks down the barriers that often divide businesses, residents and local governments. Joining a Town Team generates new ideas, creates new connections and helps everyone to have a better understanding of the opportunities and the challenges. This allows us to come together to generate great ideas and ways to improve places and spaces for the social and economic future of our community.
