The City has received a Proposed Structure Plan for Wattle Grove South. The submission of a Structure Plan to the City is the next step in the planning process which typically occurs after a Metropolitan Region Scheme amendment is progressed.

The role of a structure plan is to guide the coordinated development of a specific area by setting out a layout for future land uses, including roads, housing densities, public reserves, and community facilities.

This structure plan is developer driven and while the community will have an opportunity to provide its comments on the proposed plan and it will be considered by Council - ultimately it will be determined by the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC).

Documents explaining the Structure Plan are available to view in the Document Library on the City’s Engage page.

The City of Kalamunda’s role is to:

  • Inform and involve affected and nearby residents and landowners
  • Collate feedback on the proposal and submit to Council
  • Council will then provide a recommendation to WAPC.

There has been previous consultation on visioning for the area over the years. This latest proposal is part of that journey – this is your opportunity to have a say in the future of Wattle Grove South.

If the plan is approved by the WAPC, landowners can apply to subdivide and there may not be further opportunity to consult.

Make the most of your engagement opportunity by reviewing the plan and sharing your feedback before consultation closes.
