Council at its February 2025 Ordinary Council Meeting resolved to approve the disposal of Lot 8 (3) Urch Road and Lot 7 (12) McRae Road, Kalamunda (subject lots) to the market. These lots are adjacent to Andrew Reserve but are not part of the reserve. They are zoned Residential R10/20 under the provisions of Local Planning Scheme No. 3. and therefore, can be developed for residential use.

Disposal to sell the two lots is regulated under section 3.58 of the Local Government Act 1995 (Act).

S3.58 of the Act enables the City of Kalamunda (City) to dispose of the two lots by a number of means, which will require the City to advertise the proposal to the local community for comment and for the Council to consider any submissions received.

The sale of the subject lots will generate revenue to support the City's long term financial position and help prioritise social, economic and environmental enhancement opportunities. In this regard the Council in resolving to support the disposal of the subject lots also resolved to allocate $50,000 from the sale of the lots to an environmental reserve to enhance the environmental values of Andrew Reserve.

Development of both lots for residential use will help to deliver more housing opportunities in the Kalamunda locality at a time when there is strong market demand for housing.
