Why is this Plan important?

The Action Plan seeks to provide a proactive approach to securing Non-potable water (non-drinking water) for future Public Open Space in the City.

The Plan has been developed in response the following fundamentals issues:

    • Perth's drying climate.
    • A growing population.
    • Future Public Open Space requirements.
    • The rising cost of using scheme water for irrigation.
    • Current water licencing constraints.

This initiative was in response to the emerging risk of new and existing Public Open Spaces having insufficient water to maintain their amenity.
